Hello everyone! My name is Sarah Hubbard and I go to Battle Creek Friends Church in Battle Creek, Michigan! When I went to Summit 2014 and was looking forward to Summit 2018, it seemed so far away, I can’t believe it is almost upon us! How exciting!
When I look back on Summit 2014, I remember great conversations with the young adults from my church and from other Friends churches. It was so cool to connect with them and ring in the new year together! I was younger than most of the people there, which scared me at first, but I learned so much from the speakers, sessions, and conversations. I learned about successful leadership in the church and outside in day-to-day life. My church brought home inspiration and many new ideas on how to build intentional relationships and how to better serve the people around us. The experience of meeting and talking with other young adults that had the same mission and passion as me was really refreshing.
I am looking forward to Summit 2018 in Denver, CO for so many reasons! I am excited to see people that I connected with at Summit 2014, and I am excited to have more conversations with them and see how they implemented the ideas and missions that we talked about 3 years ago. I am also looking forward to meeting new friends from all over the country! I am eager to just hang out with all the people there! It was so much fun to travel and get closer with the group from my church, while making friends with other churches! The games and activities that we did were hilarious and entertaining. I am also excited to be in Denver, I have never been there before!
In the end, it all comes down to building relationships with each other and with God. Summit certainly inspires both.. I’m excited to see you all there! Denver here we come!
